Charles Taylor Adjusting and Technical Services – U.S. Appoints New Marine Managing Director

Charles Taylor, the provider of services and technology solutions to the global insurance market, announced that Kuhrt Wieneke, President, Charles Taylor Marine Technical Services – U.S., has been appointed as Managing Director of Charles Taylor Adjusting’s U.S. Marine division, effective January 1, 2021.

Mr. Wieneke joined Charles Taylor in April 2020 with the creation of Charles Taylor Marine Technical Services (CT MTS). CT MTS brought together the marine surveying and technical marine consultancy businesses of Bowditch Marine, Pilot Marine and the marine surveyors of Charles Taylor Adjusting U.S., as one cohesive marine surveying and consultancy service provider.  Since that time, he has managed the CT MTS team of 19 experienced professionals, including industry veteran John Poulson, operating from Charles Taylor U.S. locations in Seattle, New York, Boston, Savannah, San Francisco, Houston and Honolulu.  CT MTS supports sector clients, including vessel owners and charterers, hull & machinery insurers, P&I Clubs, cargo owners and re/insurance underwriters.

With the announcement of his expanded leadership role, Mr. Wieneke will assume the position as Managing Director, Marine for Charles Taylor Adjusting (CTA), in addition to continuing as CT MTS President. He will be responsible for overseeing and managing CT MTS’s team of marine surveyors and technical consulting specialists, as well as CTA’s experienced marine adjusters, integrating the management and growth strategy of Charles Taylor’s marine businesses. This alignment will drive efficiency, consistency, and quality across Charles Taylor’s marine businesses, ensuring top tier services to Charles Taylor’s insurance, shipping and other interested marine industry clients.

Through collaboration with members of Charles Taylor’s U.S. executive team, Mr. Wieneke also will integrate CT MTS into the suite of technical services businesses based out of the U.S. that comprise Charles Taylor Technical Services.  CT Technical Services will now include Charles Taylor Engineering Technical Services (CT Engineering) and SBSA, LLC, a Charles Taylor Company.  Together, these entities will offer a full suite of pre- and post-loss multi-disciplinary engineering, architectural, and construction and project management services, as well as CT MTS capabilities.  CT Technical Services acts as a separate business unit from CTA but is often requested by clients to combine expertise to manage complex multi-disciplinary projects and forensic investigations.

“With the addition of Kuhrt in a key U.S. leadership role and the alignment of our marine services in the U.S., we are well positioned to serve the marine sector and ignite continued growth in this part of our business. I am pleased to welcome Kuhrt to our team,” said Vince Cole, Chief Executive Officer, CT Adjusting and Technical Services – U.S.
