Stephen is a chartered loss adjuster and chartered surveyor with over 35 years’ experience in managing complex high value insurance claims focused on the energy, power and mining sectors.
He has previously been based in London, Australia and more recently Asia. As well as in technical loss adjusting, he has wide experience in consulting with large corporations, governments and insurance companies on risk and insurance related matters.
Before joining Charles Taylor in 2021, Stephen worked for a big 4 consulting business and has held technical leadership roles in loss adjusting companies regionally and globally.
His business network includes close working relationships with major corporations, insurance and reinsurance companies, insurance brokers, risk managers, legal advisors and claims service providers across Australia, SE Asia and in US and European markets.

Mining & Resources
Major property damage and business interruption losses involving hard and soft materials, and metals processing. This includes assignments in Asia, Africa, Europe, North and South America, the Pacific Islands and Australia. Key losses managed include: failure of undersea effluent pipe at nickel processing plant in New Caledonia, major underground combustion events in coal mines in Australia, major flooding of open pit mines in Indonesia and Australia, tailing dam failure in Brazil.

Energy / Engineering/Construction
Significant machinery breakdowns at power plants, Assignments involved include damage to PV and CSP plant and equipment, gas and steam turbines, generators, compressors and handling equipment. Key losses include: landslide in Indonesia damaging geothermal plant and pipe network, tank failure at CSP plant in Morocco, major fire and breakdown losses at ore processing and chemical plants in Korea, cracking of undersea outfall and cooling water intake pipes during power plant construction in Indonesia, CAR and public liability losses following hydro dam failure in Laos.
