Cory joined Richards Hogg International, prior to the Charles Taylor Group’s acquisition in 1998, as a trainee average adjuster in 1993 after she had graduated from Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
With her great passion and strong desire for learning, she has been trained and developed with different mindsets and skillsets across a wider range of claims’ experience on other group product lines apart from Average Adjusting. Such experiences included hull and/or cargo claims surveying and adjusting services for several run-off marine insurers including World-Wide Insurance, Sumitomo Insurance, etc.
Cory also enjoyed the privilege to have received industry training in petroleum at PETEX in Texas in 1998 after which she was assigned to a Chinese liaison role for the group’s offshore Natural Resources loss adjusting division after the group’s acquisitions of Bateman Chapman and Rush Johnson. Cory travelled extensively in Mainland China between 1998 and 2001 to support their technical directors on claims handling and seminar presentations to all the key local Chinese insurers and CNOOC togetherwith their international brokers and reinsurers.
Thereafter, Cory also gained extensive knowledge and experience in handling PI correspondent claims during which she had the great satisfaction to have assisted one of the members of the Standard PI Club to repatriate a stowaway on board their vessel back to his home country which was the first such successful case in the history of Hong Kong.
Apart from enjoying a wide range of claims’ handling functions, Cory also worked hard on her further studies and became an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute, passing the examinations in the Marine Insurance Underwriting and Claims subject with the grade of distinction. She also finished a Master’s course, with distinction, in International Shipping  Transport Logistics at Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2005.      In the past 10 to 15 years, Cory has been focused more to help the group in managing their Greater China offices’ operation and providing collaborative support on business development in the region for other group product lines apart from marine. She is one of the founding members of WISTA HK branch which was set up in 2009.
