30+ years insurance experience with composite insurers and loss adjusters
Past 15 years with the worlds largest claims management/loss adjusters as Head of Environmental Adjusting. Having concentrated on handling environmental claims since 2010, he formed the Environmental Adjusting team in 2015. They experienced rapid growth increasing to managing a team of 10 Environmental Adjusters/technicians.Responsible for handling own caseload from specialist environmental insurers/underwriters; many of the claims were related to incidents across the globe. Supervised/assisted colleagues to manage “in country” claims providing policy cover and interpretation advice to clients.
Recognised across the London Market as an Environmental Adjusting Expert I am nominated to manage conflict cases between insurer/broker/policyholder interests.
Notable cases:
- Liquid fertiliser spillage across farmland to pollute water course, fishing lakes and putting a nearby river at risk – regulatory and policy cover disputes - circa £1.5M
- Escape of heating fuel at hotel near SSSI river and college. Coordinated with all stakeholders (various regulators, utility companies, local authority, etc) and minimised the loss of revenue to the insured – circa £850k
- Coordinating the management of the remediation following a significant release of fuel from a transportation pipeline in Europe - £1.5M
- Various claims concerning releases of fuel (gradual) from petrol filling stations – managing the demands of neighbours, regulators, policyholder and council; overseeing the required remediation indemnified by the various environmental liability/risk policies #
- As part of my team leader role, I supported colleagues manage their own complex claims to enhance their learning to protect the clients’ interests.
- Previous experience also includes handling professional indemnity claims; for structural steel company (£2.5M), misspelling on food packaging (£650k)
