Charles Taylor announces the expansion of its marine capabilities by integrating Bowditch Marine, Pilot Marine, and the marine surveyors of Charles Taylor Adjusting U.S., as Charles Taylor Marine Technical Services, effective April 1, 2020.

Charles Taylor Marine Technical Services brings together a team of professional marine surveyors with a proactive approach to protecting clients’ marine assets. Charles Taylor purchased Bowditch Marine, Inc. in 2018 and acquired Pilot Marine in 2020 to service the U.S. marine industry. Charles Taylor Adjusting has been providing high quality, full-service adjusting and surveying services in the U.S, including marine surveying, since 2001. By combining decades of marine surveying expertise as Charles Taylor Marine Technical Services, the newly integrated team will provide marine and cargo surveying and consulting services to assist vessel owners, reinsurance and insurance underwriters, and other maritime interests. Charles Taylor Marine Technical Services will offer the full spectrum of technically advanced surveying services from pre-voyage inspections to post-damage surveys. It enhances the full range of insurance services provided by Charles Taylor to the U.S. marine industry.

Charles Taylor Marine Technical Services enables the expansion of technical surveying capabilities with specialized professional expertise focusing on risk management, loss mitigation, damage repair and remediation. Survey competencies for commercial vessels, mega-yachts and ports include Hull & Machinery, Ocean & Inland Cargo, Warranty, and Marine Property. Charles Taylor Marine Technical Services will address the interests of vessel owners, vessel charterers, hull & machinery underwriters, P&I Clubs, insurance pools, cargo owners and re/insurance underwriters.
