About This Individual
  • Peter started his career at Charles Taylor Hong Kong office in 2006 after graduating from a degree course at the International Shipping and Transport Logistics from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University as a trainee average adjuster and marine claims executive in the early years. He became an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute in 2011.

  • During the period between 2011 and 2013, he has gained experience to work at other Charles Taylor group offices on secondment at Taipei, London and Liverpool.

  • After spending more than 10 years with the company, Peter gained vast experience in handling most types of marine hull claims traded under Richards Hogg Lindley including Particular Average, General Average, Collision Liabilities, Constructive Total Loss claims as well as Loss of Hire claims applicable under different forms of marine international market clauses. In the meantime, he also provides supports to have assisted the group Charles Taylor Adjusting (CTA) with developing, handling and/or supervised other marine product lines including yacht, cargo and port & terminal claims and pursued recoveries against liable parties.

  • Peter is now one of the senior adjusting team not only serving the local HK clients but also the Greater China market in handling small to large and complex marine shipping casualties involving grounding, collision, salvage, and where required, managing multi-bills of lading general average and/or salvage security collections where decisions taken by liner shipping operators to have declared general average.

  • Apart from supporting as regular lecturers/speakers for various groups of client seminars/workshops organised either locally or in the Greater China region, Peter also actively participates and attends as speaker for events organised by some profound marine institutes and/or international associations including WISTA HK and the Taiwan Non-Life Insurance Association and is currently served on the executive committee of the Marine Insurance Club in HK.

  • Through working on rigorous examinations, Peter was successfully qualified as a Fellow of the British Association of Average Adjusters (AAA) in 2019 and is now supporting the North Asia region to run the marine product lines for the HK office operation and driving innovation in the business developments projects.

Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) in International Shipping and Transport Logistics from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. 
  • Qualified as an Associate of the British Association of Average Adjusters in 2009.
  • Qualified as an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) in 2011.
