Our Strategy

Our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategy is divided into the three pillars below

Employee Engagement

Employee voice is essential to creating a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment and our Employee Networks play a fundamental role. Connecting our global vision with our regions to provide resources to both our colleagues and the organisation. Our employee networks represent each area on our DE&I agenda.

Transparent Data, Policy & Processes

It is the data we collect that strengthens our understanding, and our policies and processes underpin our commitment to a diverse, equitable and inclusive business. We continuously work to ensure Charles Taylor is recruiting a diverse workforce through fair and unbiased processes, and ensure our policies are inclusive for all. We are driven to continuously improve our culture and as such, collect regular employee engagement data focussed on diversity, equity and inclusion drivers.

Accountability

We are not one voice but many, aligned to our purpose and DE&I pledge and all colleagues will continue to play a role in driving our agenda by attending required DE&I training for all colleagues, leading by examples with DE&I interventions at Management and Leadership levels, and holding our suppliers accountable.

Our Employee Networks

Networks provide a safe space for employees to have real, honest conversations on work-life experience, highlighting both areas for improvement and areas of success. They are essential to enhancing a culture of inclusivity and ensuring people feel able to bring their whole selves to work.

Gender Equity Network (GEN)

This group is for all employees who believe everyone should be given the opportunity and support to succeed in their career, regardless of gender. The Gender Equity network works to increase the number of role models in the organisation, break long-held gender biases held by both men and women, and create a culture that supports and empowers all genders their career.

Charles Taylor+ Network

This group represents lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and all other colleagues at Charles Taylor with diverse sexual orientations, gender identities or expressions, and sex characteristics. The plus network is working to create an environment that embraces and celebrates diversity in a wide range of sexual orientations, family arrangements, and gender identities by supporting the individual employee, the organisation and the wider community.

Racial Equality And Diversity Network (READ)

This group provides a space to reflect on institutional and cultural barriers standing in the way of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic staff and provides a space to discuss, question, challenge and take action where necessary to promote race equality and diversity at Charles Taylor.

Disability, Ability and Wellbeing Network (DAWN)

This network provides an open forum for our colleagues with a disability, neurodiverse and mental health condition (or colleagues passionate about supporting others that do) to share their experience of the workplace in a supportive and safe environment, allowing them to achieve their full potential.

“As a gay man, I believe the benefit in providing initiatives and a sense of inclusivity for the LGBTQ+ community within CT for those that are seeking a community of like-minded individuals to identify with and to help each other develop in their career.”
