About This Individual
  • After graduating with a 2:1 degree in Quantity Surveying Julian began work as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor for Gleeds Chartered Quantity Surveyors based in the South West. After 2 years he moved into contracting where he worked initially for Costain Ltd on a variety road quayside, bridge and water treatment projects across the UK. In 1994 he joined Edmund Nuttall Ltd as a Senior Quantity Surveyor where he worked predominantly on large scale water related projects in the North East of England.

  • In 1995, Julian left contracting and entered the loss adjusting profession. Initially working as part of a major and complex loss team dealing primarily with commercial fire and flood losses, he soon joined the Special Risks division solely dealing with contract works and engineering claims. Ultimately, Julian became a Divisional Director heading up the London construction unit.

  • After working for two other major loss adjusting companies, firstly as head of construction then latterly as a Divisional Director, he joined Charles Taylor Adjusting in December 2016.

  • Julian has a wide range of experience with construction losses including civil engineering, building, power and energy; including renewables and environmental projects.. He also handles substantial property damage public liability losses, PFI’s operational claims, loss of revenue/advance loss of profits, delay in start-up and engineering claims.
