About This Individual
  • Alwyn qualified as a Licenced Aircraft engineer in 1982 and currently holds extensive UK CAA, EASA Part 66 A, B1, C categories and FAA licences covering a wide range of piston, Turboprop, jet aircraft and helicopters.
  • He also holds a Commercial pilots licence with Instrument, multiengine seaplane and instructor’s ratings.
  • After holding senior positions in general aviation and small airlines, Alwyn joined Short Brothers Plc / Bombardier in 1986 as their Field Service Manager responsible for product support.
  • In 1992 Alwyn took up a position as surveyor with British Aviation Insurance Group (BAIG) to establish their own in house survey capability before joining Lloyds Aviation in 1997. Lloyd’s Aviation was taken over by Charles Taylor adjusting in 2000.
  • He has over 20 years’ experience as a surveyor handling a wide variety of losses including major and high profile airline losses in the region and regularly completes risk and safety surveys on airports, operators and engineering organizations.
  • Alwyn moved to Dubai in 2008 from the CTA London office to establish and manage Dubai Aviation office.

Professional Qualifications

  • UK CAA Licenced Aircraft maintenance Engineer.
  • Wood and composite airframes, Pressurized and unpressurized metal airframes.
  • Piston engines, Turbo propeller and jet engines.
  • Piston and turboshaft engine Helicopters.
  • EASA, Part 66, category A, B1 and C.
  • FAA A & P license.
  • Commercial Pilots Licence, with Instrument, multi engine, single and multi engine seaplane and instructors ratings.
