  • Alan is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with over 30 years experience working in the loss adjusting profession, where he specializes in construction risks.
  • Before relocating to Hong Kong in 2012, Alan was the Construction Director of a Major Loss Team based in Glasgow. He was responsible for major CAR claims across the United Kingdom, primarily in Scotland, handling a significant number of project policy claims on a wide variety of infrastructure and building projects including power, water, road, motorway, school and hospital contracts including terrorist attacks.
  • Alan was the nominated Adjuster for various PPP / PFI Projects and for a number of Building and Civil Engineering Contractors. Alan was also the nominated Adjuster for all Network Rail’s infrastructure claims in Scotland. In this capacity he dealt with a large number of landslip, embankment collapse, tunnel, bridge (including the well-known Forth Rail Bridge) and train derailment claims. In addition, Alan has also extensive experience in dealing with traditional high value complex claims for a variety of commercial, industrial and construction companies.
  • Alan transferred to Hong Kong in 2012 and has received excellent support from the Asia market, dealing with a wide variety of construction and engineering claims on various projects including MTRC extensions, infrastructure, commercial and residential developments, sludge treatment works, water supply tunnels, natural gas pipelines (including HDD), airport projects, refinery and petrochemical projects and power stations.
