Charles Taylor Adjusting (CTA) has appointed industry veteran Derik Chen as Greater China Regional Director. In this regional role, Derik will have oversight of the company’s continued growth in China and Taiwan, as well as lead the establishment of the property and casualty adjusting business in Taiwan.

Currently based in Shanghai, Derik has over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry having managed claims arising from natural disasters and defective equipment, product liability claims and loss adjustment. Derik has handled several high-profile and complicated multi-million-dollar claims/losses over the years with clients in China, Malaysia, Taiwan and the US Virgin Islands.

Before his recent appointment with CTA, Derik worked as a Claims Manager with AXA XL in Greater China. He brings with him an extensive and thorough knowledge of the Chinese market. 

Derik will be reporting to Wee Loon Yong, CEO (Asia Property & Casualty), based in Singapore. Our local marine operation has been operating in China for over 15 years. Our current coverage includes local networks in major cities such as Dalian, Tianjin, Beijing, Qingdao, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chengdu. Our goal is to be able to serve local and international clients with an efficient, flexible and technical service.
