Graduate Loss Adjusters & Graduate Average Adjusters

Our graduate adjusters investigate large and complex insurance losses that occur in the aviation, energy, marine and property fields. Picture the scene – a bulk carrier and a containership collide outside a large port, spilling oil and losing containers into the sea. You are appointed to provide crucial advice on legal and other aspects of the insurance claim, and it’s up to you to decide who pays for what and where the liabilities lie.

Loss adjusting and average adjusting is extremely varied work and no two cases will ever be the same. You will act as an impartial intermediary between businesses and their insurers, advising on the extent of liability when it comes to damage and other issues.

Working as an adjuster at Charles Taylor can take you all over the world, as a key contributor on high-profile and complex insurance losses.

Graduate Claims Assistants

Our graduate claims assistants typically join us after studying a law degree, LLM or LPC and ideally have some knowledge or interest in the maritime and shipping field. You will act as a key point of contact for our clients and assist with the management of claims, many of which can be complex and challenging.

You will ensure that claims are handled effectively and commercially whilst seeking the best outcome for our clients. Working in claims gives graduates a deep understanding of shipping insurance and requires a high degree of analytical and organisational skills. There are development opportunities to progress to be a claims executive.
